Extramarks Career Assessment Program (CAP) is an online career guidance program specifically developed for school students from grade 9 to 12. CAP aids students decide which stream, course and career would suit them best in accordance with their personality and abilities. It is a scientifically designed and approved program that helps class 10 students to decide a right stream and class 12 students to select right course and career.

Extramarks CAP measures inherent aptitude and unique personality of students through an online Psychometric Test. This consists of an online Personality Test, online Aptitude Test and online Career Preference Test. Personality plays a very vital role in choosing the right career. Aptitude is a person's ability to perform different tasks naturally. It is important to see at what a person is good at. Further, we ask students to select the career fields in which they are interested and would like to pursue. We map the career fields of their choice to their personality and aptitude. Accordingly, a list of career fields is suggested to the student.

Further, our career counselors discuss with students in detail about their aspiration, academic scores, hobbies, interests, role models, extracurricular activities, etc. When needed, our counselors also talk to parents and understand family background and take other inputs. Finally, our counselors reach to a conclusion and suggest the best course and career choices. We do suggest students about the best colleges in and outside India, entrance exams, entry requirements, options for higher studies and career ahead.

Extramarks CAP is more relevant these days for students as well as parents. Most of us are ignorant of our own inherent potential that leads to confusion while deciding a stream, course or career. Parents' insists only on few careers after 12th which are assumed to be more fruitful, admired and looked after. As a result, the unfit course selection puts students in a precarious situation and they barely manage to complete it. It becomes more risky to join a career that they have not enjoyed.
